1. Project Title
Hot-Dip Galvanized Conical Steel Street Light Poles for Municipal Road Lighting Project in Granada, Spain
2. Project Summary (Opening Abstract)
This project involved the supply of custom hot-dip galvanized conical steel street light poles for a municipal road lighting project in the Granada metropolitan area, Spain. A total of 480 poles (10m and 12m) were designed for a newly built urban arterial road, configured with single- and double-arm brackets for LED luminaires. Each pole was supplied with flange base plates, anchor bolt cages, arm brackets, and an 80–100 µm hot-dip galvanized corrosion-resistant surface treatment, engineered to withstand the region's strong inland winds and large temperature swings. As the manufacturer, Yangzhou Xintong provided full project support - pole structural design, fabrication, galvanizing, export packaging, container loading, and on-site installation guidance for the local contractor.

4. Client Background & Pain Points
The client, a municipal infrastructure contractor in Andalusia, Spain, was awarded a contract to provide street lighting for a newly constructed urban arterial road on the outskirts of Granada. The road required a large, uniform run of tall conical poles to deliver consistent, high-quality illumination for road traffic and pedestrian safety.
The project presented several demanding requirements:
• Strict EU / EN 40 compliance - as an EU public infrastructure project, every pole had to comply with EN 40 lighting column standards and EN ISO 1461 galvanizing requirements, with full CE documentation for municipal acceptance.
• High inland wind loads & thermal cycling - the inland Granada plateau experiences strong winds and wide day–night and seasonal temperature swings.
• Aesthetic consistency along a flagship road - the poles needed a clean conical profile and uniform finish.
• Reliable on-time delivery - coordinated civil works meant any delay would stall the schedule.
5. Our Solution
As a 6-year custom manufacturer specializing in lighting poles, Yangzhou Xintong addressed each pain point directly:
• EU compliance built in: Poles were fabricated to EN 40 and galvanized to EN ISO 1461 / ISO 1461.
• Structural reliability: Engineering team produced project-specific structural calculations for up to 200 km/h wind load.
• Consistent conical finish at scale: Standardized CNC forming and controlled galvanizing.
• Full customization capability: Heights (10m/12m), arm configurations, and base details were tailored.
• Engineering & lighting services: Full lighting solution support including AutoCAD layout and DIALux Evo.
• In-house full production chain: All completed in-house for full control over quality and the 31-day lead time.

In-house production process: cutting, bending, welding, galvanizing and quality checks
6. Production Process & Quality Control Standards
1. Cutting - Q235/Q355 steel plate is precision-cut to size.
2. Bending - plate is press-braked into the conical/octagonal pole form.
3. Welding - full-penetration longitudinal welds.
4. Polishing & incising - welds are dressed and openings are cut.
5. Hot-dip galvanization - uniform 80–100 µm coating per EN ISO 1461.
6. Spraying (optional) - powder coating applied over galvanizing.
7. Quality checks - coating thickness measured, weld integrity inspected.
8. Packing & shipping - verified poles are bundled, wrapped and loaded.
7. Packaging & Delivery
• Protective wrapping: Each pole is wrapped with protective material.
• Bundling & strapping: Secured with steel strapping and wooden spacers.
• Container loading: Professionally loaded into 40ft containers.

8. Project Results & Client Feedback
The full order of 480 galvanized conical poles was delivered within the agreed 31-day lead time and passed municipal acceptance.

Client feedback:
"Xintong delivered exactly what an EU public project demands - full EN 40 and galvanizing compliance, consistent quality across nearly 500 poles, and on-time delivery that kept our road construction schedule on track. The conical poles look excellent along the new arterial road. We look forward to the next phase."
